Ashlee Bell

Ashlee started riding at the age of 4 years. Her first horse, My Best Duds was purchased for her at the age of 6½. Ashlee started showing in the hunter ring and at 9 moved into evening at the pre-training level. Ashlee then got a chance to ride a very talented pony, Rosie who she competed successfully and showed in many championships winning many red ribbons.

In 2003 My Best Duds was retired and the search was on for a dressage mount, after her growing passion for dressage. It was in 2004 that her current mount Corgan, a 9 year old Hannovairan was purchased. In 2005 Ashlee moved on to become a student of Belinda Trussell. Deciding with Belinda’s foresight to focus on the future, Ashlee concentrated on her and Corgan’s goal to compete at Prix St. George. Ashlee dedicated herself to her training schedule and she and Corgan moved very successfully through from training level to third level. Winning many American and Canadian championships. In 2009 Ashlee and Corgan first competed at their goal in FEI Young Riders. With the coaching and support from Belinda, Ashlee and Corgan completed their first season in FEI Young Riders finishing off the season in a very good spot with promising results.

While attending Georgian College in sight of a nursing degree, Ashlee continues to train with Belinda and help from John MacPherson in hopes over the next few years of earning a spot on the Canadian Young Rider Team.
